Paige España is a nonprofit professional with a decade of animal welfare experience, most recently serving as the director of a grassroots cat and dog rescue in Portland, Oregon, where she oversaw operations, communications, and fundraising and helped lead the organization’s inaugural pursuit of social justice education. Currently, she works as part of the administration and operations team at Housing Development Consortium, the affordable housing membership association of Seattle-King County. Paige holds an MA in Writing & Publishing from Portland State University, a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from Willamette Valley Development Officers, and is presently learning Spanish poco a poco.
She believes in kindness, curiosity, and conscientious learning as core tools to honor the contributions that each of us bring to our work and to the world. She is thrilled to be a part of the SASF board and collaborate with a dedicated and compassionate group to make the world a better place for companion animals and their people. In her free time, Paige enjoys life with her partner and their pittie, exploring the great outdoors, a dog-friendly restaurant, or a good story together.
